Kristen Kish Food Truck: Sundance Film Festival
In late January, 2018, Adam and I headed West to the Rocky Mountains. I had the opportunity to attend The Sundance Film Festival on behalf of Chase Sapphire for a weekend while he stayed in Colorado. I arrived at around 2:00 pm to Park City: it was very cold, dry, and there was no snow to be seen. I went straight to meet Kristen Kish, Top Chef Season 10 winner, at the Sapphire On Location Food Truck. In-between movie screenings I was eating; and some of the dishes really stood out.
First was a plated donut from Chef Kristen Kish at Chase’s Sapphire On Location Food Truck. I wanted a quick snack and a hot drink to warm up and get me to dinner. At the truck, she served hot chocolate, hot coffee, and a steaming hot donut that more closely resembled an elaborate dessert than a familiar street food. Chef Kish's donut was ricotta-filled on top of a malted vanilla espuma and finished with candied lemon. I had two of them with a hot chocolate. It was the first stop of my Sundance weekend and the perfect welcome treat before the rest of the activities planned by Chase Sapphire.

I had a second stand out dish the following day at a cooking demo, also hosted by Chef Kish. The dish was a reinterpreted lobster roll: Maine lobster, black truffle, and a brioche crema. With each bite I dragged the sweet, juicy lobster claws across the buttery brioche crema picking up as much black truffle as possible.
Thanks to Chase Sapphire for sending us out West, and for inviting me to the Sundance Film Festival. One of the best parts of this trip was having exclusive access to the events as a cardmember; this won't be my last trip with Chase. Be sure to check out the other travel & dining experiences for Chase Sapphire cardmembers.
